Hands down one of the strongest cast ever. It was hard to decide whose mug should be prominent on this one but Samberg’s presence is undeniably important. His Digital Shorts were a huge hit, and brought the show into a new era. Sure, he wasn’t the first to do pre-taped pieces (Albert Brooks broke that ground on Season 1) but the pieces were so infectious, both live and after the fact. All this of course does not diminish the forces of Wiig, Armisen, Forte, Hader, and Sudeikis - all of them became household names and mega stars. Bonus fact - did you know Abby Elliot’s dad was also a cast member a decade prior to this?
